Katra
0 km — Start 2,500 ft Yatra Slip
🏘️ Katra
The base camp of the yatra. This small town nestled at the foothills of Trikuta Parvat is full of hotels, restaurants, markets, and the RFID yatra registration center. Your journey begins with the yatra slip from here.
💡 Rest the night before and start the yatra at 3–4 AM for a comfortable trek.

The sacred site where Mata struck a stone with her divine arrow to release holy water. Hanuman Ji drank this water. Devotees take a holy dip here before beginning the yatra.
💡 Do take a dip here — this water is considered sacred by all pilgrims.
Charan Paduka

👣 Charan Paduka
Holy footprints of Mata Rani imprinted on a stone. It is believed that bowing here brings special blessings from Mata. A calm and spiritually charged site.

🕉️ Ardhkuwari
The halfway point of the yatra. A narrow cave here called Garbh Joon is where Mata meditated for 9 months. Passing through this cave symbolizes spiritual purification.

Himkoti

🌄 Himkoti
Scenic valley viewpoint and an important rest stop. The mountain views from here are breathtaking. Gather energy here for the climb ahead.
💡 Pony and palki exchanges happen at this point.

🛕 Bhawan — Holy Cave
The main shrine of Mata Vaishno Devi! Three holy Pindies — Maha Kali, Maha Saraswati and Maha Lakshmi — are enshrined here. Darshan is available 24 hours.
💡 Visit between 2–4 AM to avoid crowds and get serene darshan.

The final and mandatory stop. By Mata's divine decree, this darshan is compulsory. The yatra is considered incomplete without visiting Bhairav Nath Temple.

💡 Important Yatra Tips

Start before 4 AM — less crowd and better weather.
Wear light, comfortable clothes. Carry woolens for the top.
Pre-book your RFID yatra slip online to skip queues.
Book helicopter at least 1 week in advance.
Carry adequate water and energy snacks.
Never skip Bhairav Nath Temple after Bhawan darshan.
