Best Time to Visit Vaishno Devi

Every season brings a different experience — choose the right time and receive Mata's blessings

Four Main Yatra Seasons

🌸 Spring & Summer

March — June
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This is the best time for the yatra. Between March and June, the weather is pleasant — not too cold, not too hot. Clear skies and the mountains are lush green.

  • Temperature: 5°C to 30°C
  • March-April Navratri — Heavy crowds
  • May-June warm but cool at high altitude
  • Start early morning — avoid afternoon sun

🙏 Navratri Season

April & October
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Navratri comes twice a year — April (Chaitra) and October (Shardiya). During this period, over 50,000 devotees arrive daily. The atmosphere is extremely devotional.

  • Heavy crowds — plan well in advance
  • Book RFID Yatra Parchi in advance
  • Book hotels months in advance
  • Night yatra — magnificent experience

🌧️ Monsoon

July — August
⭐⭐

Yatra is possible in monsoon but caution is essential. Heavy rain makes paths slippery and landslides can occur.

  • Temperature: 18°C to 28°C — cool & humid
  • Raincoat and waterproof bag essential
  • Caution on slippery paths
  • Less crowd — peaceful yatra

❄️ Winter

November — February
⭐⭐⭐

Winter yatra is a unique experience. Mountains are snow-covered and the scenery is breathtaking. Less crowded.

  • Temperature: -5°C to 15°C
  • Heavy woolen clothes & jacket essential
  • Icy paths — be very careful
  • Very less crowd — peaceful darshan
By Mata Rani's grace, the yatra happens all 12 months. Whether snow, rain or scorching sun — whoever Mata calls, they find their way. The right time is whenever Mata calls!
