Mountain ponies are a traditional and popular mode of travel for the Vaishno Devi yatra. Best suited for elderly, weak, and young children. Only one traveler per pony.
Palki is a traditional Indian seat carried by four bearers (kahars). Ideal for the very elderly, differently-abled, and those who cannot walk at all. Palki service is available on both old and new routes.
